Welcome to Atherley Bowling ClubIndoor and Outdoor BowlingIndoor Bowling 2009 - 2010 ****** LATEST ****** Sunday 7th Feb 2010 at Warners Lakeside Resort, Hayling Island Tom Bishop played Nicky Brett in the Final of the National Champion of Champions Singles. Tom won a magnificent Semi Final 21 - 4 against John Rednall in the morning, producing a virtually faultless display of singles bowling. In the Final at 2:00 p.m., although outplayed by a vastly more experienced Nicky Brett, Tom fought all the way and was better than the 21 - 7 scoreline in Brett's favour would suggest. The Atherley is proud of Tom and he can be justifiably proud of himself!

TLH Leisure 'Top Club' Atherley have progressed to the National Finals stage of the TLH Leisure National Top Club competition with a thrilling win against Dolphin on Monday 1st February. The Ladies 2-wood singles was won by Wendy Line to get the evening off to a good start. However, the Mixed Pairs with Jean Arnaud and John Armstrong never looked like going our way and Dave Bishop, next on the rink following Wendy, lost a tight Mens 2-wood singles. The Fours, however, was going well, in spite of one 'glitch' that saw 9 shots lost in 3 ends, but Anne Pearce, Jean Terrell, Greg Davis and Iain Bunday eventually ran out comfortable winners. This left the Triples, featuring Eileen Askell, Tom Bishop and Mick Barrett, to decide the game. This had been poised on a knife edge all evening, with the Dolphin skip burning several ends. Finally, at almost 10:50 p.m., with Atherley holding shots, his attempt to force a 3rd replay of the 18th end failed and Atherley emerged winners by 6 points to 4, having won 3 of the 5 disciplines. The Finals stage is held at the TLH Leisure Resort in Torquay over 3 days, Friday 26th to Sunday 28th March 2010. Details of the draw will be reported here when available.
