Indoor Bowls
The clubs Indoor playing surface comprises of six rinks. The surface is a Greengauge carpet over a Dales wooden floor. The lighting was upgraded in 2004, having been designed by a local firm of Lighting Architects - it provides a uniform light level over all parts of the green.
The club has installed 'comfort cooling' in the entire Indoor area and this provides a steady temperature of 21° all year round. Whilst the green is mainly used during the winter months bowling takes place all year round. Currently use of the green during the winter is from 8am through to 10:15pm every day. The majority of this time is allocated to league sessions of 2 hours. There is a session at 8am (called the Dawn Patrol) which operates on a 'turn up and bowl' system as well as similar sessions at different times on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday's. There are also sessions set aside for members who wish to book rinks in advance.
